Facilitation skills are being recognised as an essential competency for managers, leaders and others responsible for ensuring groups, teams or organisations achieve their objectives. Effective facilitation is a potent means of dealing with complex issues and circumstances faced by groups. Employing the skills of facilitation increases the effectiveness of meetings and events, helps to resolve conflicts, increases participation and enables groups to make informed, quality decisions. Facilitation supports an organisation’s success through the design and delivery of processes that enable groups to work more effectively, to harness energy and productivity and attend to interpersonal issues that impede performance.
Participating in the Kinharvie Institute Facilitation Skills Programme will:
- Increase your confidence and impact as a facilitator
- Enhance your competence and assurance in using a facilitative approach at work
- Increase your ability in dealing with complex group dynamics
- Provide you with an extensive tool kit to use in your work with groups
- Provide an opportunity to practise your facilitation skills
- Offer you feedback on your practise
The six-day programme is run over three months to give participants maximum opportunity to apply the skills and learning in their work situation.
Who is this programme for?
This programme is for managers, team leaders, consultants and others who want to develop and extend their facilitation skills as a means of working more effectively with people in a wide range of team/group settings. It is for those who want to add facilitation to their tool kit and for facilitators who want to reflect on and identify their own competencies and growing edge.
